A label, the International Ski School is a French professional union grouping together more than 80 ski schools spread over all the French massifs. These schools have all signed a quality charter, guaranteeing a warm welcome, professionalism of the services offered, dynamism and constant innovation. They are therefore obliged to employ only state-certified instructors and guides and to limit the number of students per group lesson. The "ESI" label guarantees quality teaching by qualified professionals and an individual, friendly and warm welcome.
Clarification on training: All ski instructors in France are required to have a state diploma. The diploma is awarded by the ENSA (National Ski and Alpinism School in Chamonix).
Each instructor is then free to work for a school that is part of the ESI union, the ESF union or simply to remain independent.
The ESI have developed their own label of medals (the "cristal", registered trademark), based on the progression defined by the Mémento du Ski Français, published by the ENSA (Ecole Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme). At the end of their week of lessons, the students are awarded a medal corresponding to the level obtained, recognized in all the ESI of France and equivalent to the levels of the ESF
