24 years after its closure, the mythical ski resort of Asco in Corsica has reopened its slopes!
Opened for the first time in 1964, the resort of Asco located in the department of Haute-Corse has had an eventful history.
Ascot remained abandoned until 2015, following violent floods and mudslides in September 1992, which seriously damaged the resort's equipment.
Thanks to an investment of several million euros, the resort of Asco can finally rise from its ashes this winter!
With a brand new ski lift and also a conveyor belt for children, skiers can now make their comeback on the slopes.
As told by the Quotidien Corse-Martin, the resort has been full since its first weekend of reopening.
For the occasion, the ESI Altu Ascu was also able to give its first ski lessons, including the inauguration of its new kindergarten reserved for the initiation of skiing to the youngest. The ski school also offers group or private lessons for older children (adults or teenagers) and snowshoeing.
We wish good luck and long life to the resort of Asco for its second youth!
